During a hair surgery nobody has free hands to fill in a form. The surgical panel is designed to record while you work.
What it records
- Surgery session with start and finish (closing asks for confirmation and cannot be undone).
- Phases: extraction and implantation, with their summary of extracted and implanted and progress against the total.
- Timer with pause and resume.
- Operator: who performs each stretch, with a breakdown per operator.
- Count by unit type, with hairs per unit. You can count by tapping the screen or by voice: the panel listens for terms such as single, double or triple and records the count.
- Work zone: painted on the model to show where work is under way.
- Surgical notes, intra-operative photos and the participating team.
- A list of recent counts and a breakdown by type.
What stays afterwards
When it ends, the record becomes part of the patient's procedure: it is the basis for follow-up (photos and follow-up) and for aggregate results (reports). An intra-operative graft counter and the surgical toolkit are on the Professional plan and above.
What it does not do
- It does not guide technique or replace the surgical team's judgement.
- Voice counting depends on the microphone and room noise; manual counting is always available.
- Surgical planning on the 3D model is evolving; this article describes intra-operative recording.
Which pain it addresses
Procedure information ending up in a notebook or one person's memory: The cost of a scattered patient record.
